Market Overview:

A drone, technically called as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), is an aircraft which works without any human entity present aboard. UAVs are operated by a control unit which can either be ground based or onboard. Ground based controllers are operated by a human dealt (manual) remote control system. An onboard control system is a self-controlled (autonomous) mechanism requiring minimal human assistance. UAVs were basically invented and used for major military missions as they have the capability to execute high-risk tasks very successfully and are quite precise and accurate in dealing with national security concerns including terrorism. In contrast to the conventional usage, today, their demand is rapidly expanding in commercial fields including science, agriculture, and recreation. The emerging application areas of drones include product delivery, weed control, and others. Moreover, the rise in autonomous military requirements is driving the market. With the immense growth of commercial drones, a new set of risks has risen up because of the underdeveloped regulatory landscape in most of the countries. Moreover, the accidental cases may incur a huge financial loss as technologies used in drones are highly sophisticated. Drones are extensively used for aerial photography in media and entertainment industry. Aerial photography is increasingly being adopted as a carrier option (cinematography) in today’s scenario which would impact the market positively in coming years. FAA estimates that presently there are around 1.1 million drones that can be identified as distinctly hobbyist or model aircraft. An alarming demand of up gradation of crop quality and quantity has arisen. The UAV manufacturers have come up with the products like “Crop Angel”, which is at the forefront of the UAV sprayer technology. Small-scale commercial business and Entrepreneurship would create space for the use of UAVs in coming years.
